Project Brief:
Make a simple and easy to use controller for navigating in WebVR space.
Ideation:
There are a variety of sensors available and at times the simple button can seem a bit mundane, I champion the mundane however. I often find myself overly focused on the technical and seeing what I could do instead of what I should do. Does a potentiometer actually provide a better interactive experience when trying to navigate around a 3D space, conventional wisdom and video game controllers would say no. Would a distance sensor tracking when you're moving forward be cool? Maybe, but also probably more gimmicky than novel. It's always a bit of a struggle for me when doing IMA projects to find the balance between difficulty and efficiency, or rather accept that it's not always important to be clever or innovating for the sake of innovating, sometimes we just need some buttons.

A sample of what I have right now.
