Experimentation:
Quite rudimentary experiments today as I'm still struggling with the mountain of pre-requisite information for understanding blockchain and NFT's. I used the same SHA256 hash algorithms that BTC uses to encrypt hello world message and then took the hash information to randomly generate noise, like literal audio noise. I want to explore ways I can use the components of blockchain to create a multi-sensorial experience in a way that people could both openly experience the NFT data while also not actually being able to access the NFT.
Post Experimentation Thoughts:
- Maybe transpose to some kind of scent or smell next?
- Human chosen random > machine randomizer, illogical choices vs systematic cypher.

Frederik's work often explores ideas of humanity and what he describes as 'a desire to overcome humanity' as well as asks how we want to remember when anything is possible.

Gabriel and Joseph are both visual artists who explore digital futures and new media methods of remembrance and memorialization in a digital age. They are the artists behind 'Digital Memory and Memorials' an exhibit featured in LACMA. Marita is a media culture and communications professor who collaborated with them on this installation. Both Gabriel and Marita teach at NYU.
